Ingredients

- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup strawberry sauce or syrup
- 1 quart vanilla ice cream
- 1 quart strawberry ice cream
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 4 waffle cone pieces or wafers for garnish
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries:
- Take the fresh strawberries and slice them into halves or quarters.
- Set aside a few whole strawberries for garnishing.
- Layer the Sundae:
- In a tall sundae glass, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream as the base.
- Pour a generous tablespoon of strawberry sauce over the ice cream.
- Add a scoop of strawberry ice cream on top.
- Add Strawberries and More Sauce:
- Place a layer of sliced strawberries over the strawberry ice cream.
- Drizzle additional strawberry sauce over the strawberries and ice cream.
- Repeat Layers:
- Continue layering scoops of vanilla and strawberry ice cream alternately, adding strawberry sauce and slices in between, until the glass is full.
- Top with Whipped Cream:
- Add a generous swirl of whipped cream on top of the sundae.
- Garnish:
- Place a waffle cone piece or wafer into the whipped cream.
- Add a few whole strawberries on top.
- Optionally, add fresh mint leaves for an additional touch.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, let the strawberry slices marinate in a tablespoon of sugar and a splash of lemon juice for about 10 minutes before using them in the sundae.
