A delightful and colorful beetroot latte recipe that not only looks beautiful but tastes amazing!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 small beetroot, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, e.g., almond or oat milk)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
- Whipped cream or frothed milk for topping
Instructions
- Prepare the Beetroot Puree:
- Boil the chopped beetroot in water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.
- Blend the beetroot in a blender or food processor until smooth.
- Make the Beetroot Latte:
- In a saucepan, combine the beetroot puree, milk, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract.
- Add cinnamon and nutmeg if using.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently until hot but not boiling.
- Create the Heart Shape:
- Pour the heated beetroot latte into a mug.
- Use a spoon to drop a small amount of frothed milk or whipped cream on top.
- With the tip of a toothpick, drag from the center outward to form a heart shape.
Notes
- For a smoother latte, strain the beetroot puree to remove any larger particles.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey/maple syrup according to preference.
- Experiment with different spices like cardamom for a unique flavor.
- If you don’t have a frother, shake warm milk vigorously in a jar with a lid for a simple froth effect.
