Description
Enjoy a delicious and healthy twist on a classic cheeseburger with this Low Carb Cheeseburger Lettuce Bowl.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound 80/20 ground beef
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 leaves romaine or iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 2 jalapeños, sliced
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sugar-free ketchup
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Season the cooked beef with salt, pepper, and your favorite burger spices. If you want to add a smoky flavor, consider mixing in some smoked paprika or garlic powder.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the cooked beef. Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet for a few minutes, allowing the cheese to melt.
- While the cheese is melting, prepare your lettuce leaves. Wash and dry them thoroughly. Use a large leaf as a base for each serving.
- Spoon the cheesy beef mixture onto each lettuce leaf. Top with diced tomatoes, onions, pickles, and any other toppings you love.
- Finish off by drizzling your choice of mustard, mayonnaise, and any other condiments you desire.
- Enjoy your Low Carb Cheeseburger Lettuce Bowl immediately for the best flavor and texture!
Notes
- This dish is great for a low-carb diet.
