Description

A delicious treat made with saltine crackers, caramel, chocolate, and a sprinkle of sea salt.


Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • to taste Sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together. Stir frequently until the mixture starts to boil and become bubbly, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Once bubbling, continue boiling for one minute without stirring.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully pour the caramel mixture over the lined crackers, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  6. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes until the edges look bubbly and the crackers are golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the hot caramel. Allow them to soften for a few minutes, then spread the melted chocolate into an even layer.
  8. Lightly sprinkle sea salt over the melted chocolate.
  9. Let the entire mixture cool until set, about 30 minutes in the refrigerator, then break into pieces.
