Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 slices white sandwich bread, toasted
  • Mashed potatoes (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Place the beef roast in a pot and cover with beef broth. Add Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Simmer gently for 1 1/2–2 hours, until the beef is tender and easy to shred.
  3. Remove the beef from the broth and slice or shred; keep warm.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and whisk in flour to form a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in strained beef broth until smooth and thickened into gravy.
  6. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  7. Place toasted bread slices on plates, top with beef, and ladle gravy generously over the top.
  8. Serve immediately, optionally with mashed potatoes.
