Description
Delicious roasted pumpkin seeds seasoned with spices for a crunchy and savory snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup raw pumpkin seeds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Clean the Seeds: Rinse the pumpkin seeds in a colander under cold water to remove any pumpkin pulp. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Season the Seeds: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the dry pumpkin seeds with olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and sesame seeds. Toss well to ensure all seeds are evenly coated with the spices.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the seasoned pumpkin seeds in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Roast: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 20-25 minutes. Stir the seeds halfway through to ensure even roasting. The seeds are done when they are golden brown and crispy.
Notes
- Adjusting Spices: Feel free to adjust the spices according to your taste. You can add more cayenne for extra heat or omit it for a milder version.
- Storage: Store cooled pumpkin seeds in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
- Experiment with Flavors: Try adding other spices like cumin or chili powder for different flavor profiles.
