Description

A delicious flatbread topped with spicy pepperoni, fresh jalapeños, and gooey mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 flatbread (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 fresh jalapeño pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup black olives, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil or parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare the Flatbread: Place the flatbread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Assemble the Flatbread: Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the flatbread, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce. Arrange pepperoni slices and sliced jalapeños over the cheese. Add sliced black olives.
  4. Season: Drizzle a small amount of olive oil over the toppings. Season with salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes for extra spice, if desired.
  5. Bake: Place the flatbread in the preheated oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
  6. Garnish: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Sprinkle with fresh basil or parsley if using.
  7. Serve: Slice the flatbread into portions and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Flatbread Options: Use naan or pita as alternatives to the flatbread.
  • Cheese Variation: For a twist, try adding a blend of cheeses like cheddar or provolone.
  • Extra Crunch: For a crispier flatbread, bake directly on a pizza stone or wire rack.
  • Make it Vegetarian: Skip the pepperoni and add more veggies like bell peppers or mushrooms.
