- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk, room temperature
- 1/2 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 to 3 tablespoons whole milk or heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 10–12 cup Bundt pan thoroughly.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3–4 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients with milk and sour cream, starting and ending with dry.
- Pour batter into prepared Bundt pan, smooth top, and tap to release air bubbles.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then invert onto a rack and cool completely.
- Mix powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk to make the glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over the cooled cake and allow it to set before serving.
Notes
- Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for best results.
- Feel free to add your favorite flavor extracts for a twist.
